Why does my bulldog vomit clear slime every time he drinks water?

I am concerned that he has vomited so many times. I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian. He could have eaten something that upset his stomach, have a foreign body obstruction or could have a case of pancreatitis. Your veterinarian can perform radiographs/blood work to rule in or out these issues. They also can give medication to help with the vomiting. Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Kubi is drinking too fast, he can choke a bit & bring up some phlegm. The ACV is a good idea, as the slight acidity might slow down the gulping. You can also add something to the water dish so it is just a bit more difficult for Kubi to take in too much too fast. An upturned secondary dish works well ( water dish should look like a bundt pan). If this continues, it would be a good idea to discuss things with your veterinarian. I do not think this is anything too serious, but Kubi may have some reflux going on that might respond well to medication. Take care.

I would have Tucker checked out by the vet. A puppy with the history of eating things is at an increased risk of something getting stuck. Sometimes they can eat something that only causes a partial obstruction and can lead to off and on nausea or vomiting. The vet will do an exam and may recommend x-rays to see if this could be the case. If all is clear, they can recommend a course of treatment to stop the spitting up water.

Depends on if there is a tumor on the heart causing compression of the esophagus leading to regurgitation, etc. If the cancer is spreading and beginning to affect other areas of the body such as the GI tract, then vomiting can certainly be a clinical symptom that is seen. Some dogs drink too quickly leading them to vomit up some of the water. I would recommend allowing her to drink small portions of water at a time and fill the bowl with water about 1/4 of the normal amount. Once she is finished drinking that amount, wait about 15 minutes and if she holds that down ok, you can give her more. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. I would be concerned about a few different problems including a persistent right aortic arch (PRAA), or a sliding hiatal hernia. These are congenital malformations that can cause vomiting/regurgitation especially after eating. I would try to get a video of the episodes to see if it is true vomiting vs. regurgitation as this will help narrow down possibilities. It is not normal for him to vomit that much. I would discuss with the veterinarian the possibility of brachycephalic airway syndrome. This is a disorder of breeds such as French bulldogs which can result in regular vomiting and regurgitation due to unnatural pressures within their body, as they struggle to breathe through small nostrils and a long soft palette. If it only happens when he drinks that quickly and is eating and not regurgitating or vomiting any other time then I would think he is ok. If that is not the case then I would have him examined by your Vet and have X-rays done to check his esophagus. I would prevent him from drinking so much so quickly.
