Are Bull Terrier puppies aggressive due to genetics or upbringing?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 28 lbs

If you breed 2 aggressive bull terriers together will the puppies be aggressive or is that based on the way you raise them?

It may be a little bit of both. I believe that a lot of aggressive behaviors can be prevented by the way the puppies are raised, but there are possibly heritable traits that could be passed along with breeding. I would avoid breeding aggressive dogs.
