How will my Boxer mix puppies look as adults? Will they resemble a Boxer?

Bruno is a very cute pup! Unfortunately, with a puppy that is a mix of two different breeds, it's quite unpredictable what the puppy may grow up to look like. Being able to predict the adult appearance of the pup is one of the main advantages of choosing a purebred puppy - so with a mix, I'm afraid you'll have to just wait and see! He may look like his dad, his mom, or some mixture of both. Just like human children, you never know until they're grown up. Regardless, he's a very handsome guy. I think he will be a great looking dog, no matter which parent he takes after :)

I'm not sure if you meant to ask "when" boxer mix dogs are full grown, or how large they are? I would consider a medium-sized breed like a boxer mix to be full grown at around 12 months of age. As far as size, Boxers are medium-sized dogs that usually weigh around 60 lbs or so. Depending on what Chloe is mixed with, she might be this size as an adult, or could be a bit larger or smaller.

Since the litter would receive half of its genes from the pit bull and half from your mixed breed, none of the puppies would be pit bulls. That said, the way genes are expressed can vary widely and it is possible that some of the puppies may strongly resemble pit bulls. It is equally possible that none of the puppies would resemble pit bulls. Genetics keep us on our toes and you never know exactly what will happen!

He is certainly a cutie! It is truly impossible to determine the origins of a mixed breed dog based on appearances. particularly one this young. I can see what could be cane corso or another mastiff/bully breed in his face. If you want to know his lineage I would recommend a genetic test. You can order the Wisdom Panel online or ask your vet if they have a test they can perform. As far as his size, it will depend on his parents if you have seen them, or for a very rough estimate we sometimes will see what the weight at 3 months is and triple this for a guess at adult size.

You only need one dominant gene in a pair to get that trait expressed, where are a recessive trait requires both genes to be recessive. For example, blue eyes is a recessive trait, which is why in humans, two blue eyed parents can only have blue eyed children. Genetics can be very complicated, but the simple answer to your question is that no there is no specific percentage of how much a puppy will look like its father and mother. Hi there. I'm afraid it's not possible to tell what breed a puppy is just by looking at a photo, as coat color and length, general body shape, etc. often change a great deal as puppies grow. From what I can see, he looks like a medium-to-large breed of some sort. Possibly some kind of retriever mix, but that's just a guess. If you don't have any information about his parents, your best bet would be to have a DNA test such as a Wisdom panel done. This would give you more information about what breed (or mix of breeds) he is, which would allow you to make a more educated guess about his adult size and weight.
