Is blood in my Jack Russell puppy's poop normal? Should I see a vet?

It's not good that Jack is pooping blood! This can be caused by trauma to the GI tract, a foreign body, GI ulcers, eating something toxic, intestinal parasites, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. There are some very serious causes behind a dog pooping blood, and when this happens, a immediately trip to the vet is recommended. I would take Jack into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him ASAP so he can have the cause of his bloody feces diagnosed and treated.

I'm glad to hear that Lucy otherwise seems to be eating, drinking and acting normally! However, it is very concerning that she has had vomiting with dark material that may or may not be blood. If blood is present, it is possible that she could have an ulcer in her stomach and/or intestines, severe intestinal parasites, exposure to a toxin, cancer, among many other issues. Even though this has only happened twice over 2 months, I still strongly recommend taking Lucy to her vet for evaluation. She may need to have abdominal x-rays and/or ultrasound, as well as some blood testing. From there, her vet will be able to advise you as to the best course of treatment. This can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Jack evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. There could be several causes for the symptoms you have described, including chronic pancreatitis, IBD, intestinal parasites, food allergies or intolerance, GI lymphoma, bleeding disorders, some cancers, among many other things. I would recommend that you have Bonnie checked out by a vet. After a thorough physical exam, they may recommend diagnostics such as bloodwork, intestinal parasite screening, x-rays, or ultrasound.

Poor Jack! It's quite serious that he has bloody poop, which can be caused by a foreign body, trauma to the intestinal tract, intestinal worms, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, and possibly GI tumors. Jack has to see a vet immediately, so I would take him into one now. If you don't want to assume financial responsibly for him, I would call the SPCA to come and get him. They can get him the medical treatment he needs, and can find him a home.

I'm sorry to hear Cooper is having issues. Bloody stool like you are describing can have a variety of causes, including dietary indiscretion, gastroenteritis, a virus, or an overgrowth of clostridium bacteria in the colon, among others. I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his diarrhea, have any necessary testing done, and get started on any treatment (antidiarrheal, probiotic) that may be needed to help resolve it. Aw poor Jacky Gill! I'm very concerned about the blood in the vomit as this can indicate serve Gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer formation. Jacky should see a veterinarian right away as he likely needs prescription medication to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. He may need fluids to help rehydrate him. It may also be a good idea to have X-rays done to ensure there is no intestinal blockage. Once he has received medical care a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice may also help him recover.
