When is the best age to take my puppy to the groomer for the first time?

At what age can is it safe/recommended to take my pet to the groomers?

I typically recommend waiting until a kennel cough (Bordetella) vaccine has been given, but otherwise as long as the groomer requires that all animals are vaccinated it is not too early to see a groomer. In fact, it can be helpful for a younger puppy to be groomed in order to get used to being handled in this way during the prime socialization period between 8-12 weeks of age.
