My 1-month-old beagle puppy is vomiting and won't eat. What to do?

My beagle is in very serious condition and is about a month old and last evening he vommitted and has not eaten anything yet today please help fast

Poor guy! I'm so sorry Laddoo is sick. He looks miserable, and if she's vomiting and not eating you need to take him to a veterinarian. I am so sorry but there isn't anything I can safely advise you to do at home that is going to really help him. Since he is so young, its possible that his blood sugar is low due to not eating and vomiting--you can rub some corn syrup on his gums to see if that helps, and keep water or broth closeby to enourage him to drink. You can use a dropper to get it into his mouth but ONLY if he is agreeable with this and is voluntarily swallowing it--if you force water he may aspirate and develop pneumonia. I wish there was more I could offer for you to try at home, but you really need to take him to a vet.

Causes of vomiting are: viral infections like parvovirus, intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion (ate something gross), foreign body (something is stuck), food allergy or sensitivity. Your Vet may want you to bring a stool sample so they can check it for parasites, they may want to test for parvovirus and take X-rays of his belly. I am sorry Boba is not feeling well. At that young of an age he most likely needs soften kibble with warm water or you can try can puppy food. Typically dogs are weaned at 5 weeks so 4 weeks might be a little young. i would recommend trying to stay away from people food. If Boba gets use to eating people food he might never want to eat dog food. If he is not acting right or seems sick at this young of an age he really needs to go to a vet. In young dogs parasites, infection and viral disease are all possible and he should really be examined to determine why he is ill. i hope that helps

Unfortunately, this is a situation that requires care in person because the symptoms described can be due to any number of things. If your pup isn't improving on his current treatment plan, he may need to be hospitalized with your vet so he can get IV fluids and medications to help him improve and prevent dehydration. If you don't think your vet is helping, seeking out care from another vet or a local ER clinic is best.

This is very serious and Buddy needs some lab work to determine what could be going. I would recommend testing for parvo virus and intestinal parasites, and a CBC and blood chemistry to see what changes have occurred internally. Glucose supplements only help prevent hypoglycemia, they do not treat the cause of the illness.

Why is my 4-week-old Pomeranian puppy throwing up and not eating?

Poor Blue! Small breed young puppies are delicate and they are extremely prone to low blood sugar if they don’t eat well. This condition can be fatal. There are many causes for vomiting including worms, change in diet, bacteria over growth and Parvo. I recommend to have Blue seen today by his veterinarian. It’s very important to get these little puppies eating and not vomiting to avoid low blood sugar. The doctor will need to run some tests to determine the cause. Offer him boiled white meat chicken and boiled white rice. This is a bland diet which can help to settle his stomach. Smaller, more frequent meals are better than two large ones. Unfortunately, this is not normal behavior for a young puppy and is pretty concerning. At less than two months old, your puppy needs to eat regularly or he risks having low blood sugar, which can cause serious health problems. Vomiting is not typically caused by stress and all these signs make me worry about a more serious illness. Please have him seen by a veterinarian right away because his lack of appetite and vomiting are very serious.

Why is my 8-week-old puppy vomiting, having diarrhea, and not eating?

Baily is so cute! I am concerned though that he is not eating and having such intestinal upset. I would recommend you take Baily in for an exam with your vet as soon as possible. Puppies this young can get dehydrated very quickly and become quite ill. I am worried about the possibility of intestinal parasites, eating something he shouldn't have (dietary indiscretion), or even a bacterial or viral infection (like parvovirus). Baily may need some tests to see what the underlying cause is, such as a parvo test and fecal test. He also may need some anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, or even fluid therapy if he is dehydrated. I hope he gets back on track quickly!
