Are lethargy and loss of appetite common Apoquel side effects in dogs?

It is considered as a very safe medication with few side effects. Apoquel does not have any effect on dog's appetite. If Rocco's appetite is down, he should be checked for fever, infection, abdominal pain, liver and kidney diseases. Please, get in touch with your local vets to clarify what is Rocco's main problem and to make diagnostic and treatment plan for him.

Side effects of apoquel include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and anorexia. It can be used for both short term and long term treatment. It will be up to your vet to determine how long Maylo can be on apoquel, and I would discuss long term use with your vet :-)

Apoquel can cause vomiting and diarrhea but it typically does not cause pancreatitis. Arthur's can start at a younger age in large breed dogs or there can be a soft tissue injury. newer studies show amylase and lipase are not very specific for pancreatitis as once thought.

Hubert may develop mild symptoms of gastroenteritis (for example vomiting or a bout of diarrhoea) but there should not be any more serious side effects. I recommend anytime that the apoquel has stopped working that the dog be taken to the Vet for an exam to check for a bacterial or yeast infection. Most dogs with allergies need to be on a special diet, apoquel or cytopoint, an antihistamine and an Omega 3 supplement to keep the dog comfortable, but flare ups are bound to happen, we just hope less frequently. As for the bloody diarrhea, it is likely unrelated to her skin and the apoquel but it is fine that you stopped it. Especially if it wasn't working. The blood indicated inflammation in the colon. Common causes of diarrhea are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, food allergy/intolerance, reaction to a new food/treat/table food. If the diarrhea is bad I would fast her for 12-24 hours to rest her GI tract then start feeding a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day until 2 normal stools. I wish you the best!

Lethargy and loss of appetite could be a possible side effect of nexgard or can also be side effects of any antibiotic and antifungal medications she may be on. As long as she is relatively alert and active, then I would contact her regular vet in the morning to discuss your concerns. If she is severely lethargic, hasn't eaten at all in more than 12 hours or showing other signs of illness then I recommend taking her to an emergency vet tonight to have her checked out. Hello. Atopica does not typically have a side effect of lethargy. Overdoses or adverse reactions can result in lethargy, so if she continues to be letthargic I would have her checked. Your vet may need to check her white blood cell levels or her liver values. I hope she feels better soon!
