Why is my young cat vomiting, having diarrhea, and drinking a lot?

It appears that you are a very astute cat owner and it's possible that something is off, but I would not worry too much right now. We see frequent drinking in cases of hyperthyroidism, kidney failure and other diseases, but this is normally seen over a long period of time and there would be other signs of illness. The fact that she has diarrhea is a bit concerning, but it's normal for them to have diarrhea occasionally. Usually the diarrhea is not severe and will resolve within three days. Poor socks! Unfortunately there are several things that could cause vomiting and diarrhea. She could have an infection, liver or kidney issues, parasites, and much more. Since she is not drinking much water and she is at high risk for dehydration, I would strongly recommend for you to have your vet to look at her. Chronic diarrhea in an older cat with vomiting can be a sign of an inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal cancer. The only way to differentiate between the two disease is a surgery to take biopsies of the intestines and have them analyzed. Based on the diagnosis, the diet may be changed or vitamin supplements or steroids may be added to manage her symptoms. They will check for parasite and check her labs for any renal or endocrine disease

I would be concerned about either diabetes or hyperthyroidism in Fuu. The symptoms you described can be seen with both of these diseases that usually affect older cats. I would recommend taking Fuu in to your vet to have some blood work performed. This simple test can distinguish between these two diseases. If she has diabetes she will need insulin injections daily and hyperthyroidism can be easily treated with a daily medication as well. Good luck!

Oh my. Poor kitty. Once a kitty gets this sick it is imperative to take them to the vet right away for testing and treatment. She could have a number of things going on with her including w foreign body obstruction, Toxin ingestion or even underlying kidney disease. It is unlikely she will get better without veterinary care. You can try offering her a small amount of tuna or boiled plain chicken and rice and 1-2 tsp of karo syrup to keep her blood glucose up tonight if you absolutely cannot get her seen right away. But an ER vet visit should be highly considered if possible. If not then get her seen as soon as possible tomorrow morning. I hope that your cat Dinah is able to make a full and speedy recovery. Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Gracie evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start her on medications to make her feel better and check her hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Lameness can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs.
