Why is my cat sick with bloody diarrhea, vomiting, and no appetite?

My cat is having diarrhea with blood and mucus in her fecal she is also vomiting and lost her appetite and is not drinking water. She also is not active and laid in bed all day

Oh my. Poor kitty. Once a kitty gets this sick it is imperative to take them to the vet right away for testing and treatment. She could have a number of things going on with her including w foreign body obstruction,
Toxin ingestion or even underlying kidney disease. It is unlikely she will get better without veterinary care. You can try offering her a small amount of tuna or boiled plain chicken and rice and 1-2 tsp of karo syrup to keep her blood glucose up tonight if you absolutely cannot get her seen right away. But an ER vet visit should be highly considered if possible. If not then get her seen as soon as possible tomorrow morning. I hope that your cat Dinah is able to make a full and speedy recovery. Poor Mia! If she still seems to be sick, then I would recommend calling your veterinarian or taking her back in for a recheck visit to see what your vet suggests as the next step from here. It sounds like she may need some additional diagnostics such as an abdominal ultrasound, GI blood panel, or even exploratory surgery to help figure out what's wrong.

Hi there. It would help to know if any testing was done by your vet, such as blood work or x-rays, and if so what the results were. Without that information, it's really impossible to say what might be wrong. She may have ingested something toxic, or eaten something that has caused an intestinal blockage. She could also have some type of chronic health issue such as liver or kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or even some type of cancer that was made worse by being lost and dehydrated for three days.

If you have more information about test results from your vet, feel free to post again. Otherwise, I would recommend taking her back to the vet for some additional diagnostics (blood work, x-rays, possible abdominal ultrasound, etc.) to help determine what's wrong.

Hello. I am sorry that Miley isn't feeling well. Any cat that has decreased eating, playing and drinking is a sick kitty. She could have eaten something that has upset her stomach, or could have a fever from a virus that is making her not want to eat and play. I would suggest having her checked by a vet to check her temperature and to make sure it doesn't look like she has something stuck in her guts that would need surgery to remove. Your vet will do an exam, and might need to take x-rays or do some bloodwork. Best of luck with Miley!

Poor kitty! I totally understand your concerns here, as I too am deeply concerned about this cats current condition. These symptoms suggest this cat may have a severe urinary tract infection or even a bleeding abnormality, if you are seeing blood coming from the vaginal area. A uterine infection (pyometra) is also possible here which can be life threatening if not treated medically. This cat needs to be taken to a vet hospital right away for treatment, because this is beyond what you can do for this kitty at home. They need to run some diagnostics on this cat, which will likely be bloodwork +/- abdominal radiographs and likely a urine test if a bladder infection is suspected after a complete physical exam is done. Please take kitty in to your local vet right away for further care before her condition gets any worse. If you can't get her in right away then offer kitty some low sodium chicken or beef broth and small amounts of non-flavored Pedialyte diluted with water using a syringe or small turkey baster. I hope your kitty gets better soon!

Mittens is a lovely looking girl! Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do at home for her, she has to see a vet as soon as possible because she sounds quite sick. It's serious that she's had diarrhea with blood in it, she's not eating much, she's quite thirsty, and is lethargic. I would see if you can borrow money from family or friends, if your vet will accept payment plans, or you can apply for VetCare Finance to afford a vet for her. My cat with thyroid isn't eating & has bloody diarrhea. What to do?

Poor Patches! It does sound like she's extremely sick. I would recommend taking her to an emergency vet tonight if you are able to, since it may not be safe to wait until morning if she is having bloody diarrhea and hasn't eaten in two days. The vet there can do blood work or other testing if needed to help determine what needs to be done. She may need to have her thyroid medication adjusted, or she may have some other problem such as diabetes or kidney failure that will need to be treated as well.

Poor kitties. It sounds like these kitties likely have an intestinal bug causing their symptoms. I would visit your vet to have their stools tested first to determine what bug is present, and then they can get prescribed the appropriate dewormer. They may also need to do a short course of antibiotics to get the gut flora back to normal, especially if you are seeing them straining (colitis). I hope that your little ones feel better soon! Loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Miu reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as she has not improved in the treatments they have recommended so far. My cat is suddenly throwing up and has diarrhea. What should I do?

It sounds as Sia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
