My cat is vomiting, has diarrhea, and won't drink. Is she dehydrated?

I am sorry Sock is not feeling well. This much vomiting is not normal. I would be concerned about a foreign body causing obstruction, infection or even possible coccidia. I would recommend taking Socks to the vet for additional testing like an x-ray of the abdomen and even possible blood work. the concern is dehydration and weight loss with the vomiting. Stopping the diarrhea usually requires stopping the cause of the diarrhea. In a young cat, it is often an infection that causes them to stop eating/drinking with diarrhea. However, this can happen with other illnesses or poisoning. Diarrhea is actually beneficial with infections, because it's the body's way of getting rid of the toxin/disease. And, most diarrhea resolves on its own within three days. The concerning thing with Samantha's case is that she could quickly become dehydrated if she is not drinking and continues having diarrhea. If this continues for more than a day, then she will need to go to the vet for an evaluation and treatment to keep this from being a serious problem. Other criteria for going to the vet are as follows: 1) Blood in diarrhea 2) Very watery diarrhea 3) She starts acting very depressed 4) Diarrhea lasts longer than three days You can help her get through this by feeding bland food (boneless chicken and tuna is good). Feed small portions (1 Tbsp or less) three times a day. Ensure fresh, clean water is always available. I hope this helps and Samantha gets better soon.

In order to get a diagnosis, you will need to take Blondie to a veterinarian. There could be many reasons for this such as pancreatitis, gall bladder disease, liver disease, toxin ingestion, metabolic disease, cancer, intestinal infection/inflammation and cancer. A vet would need to evaluate Blondie and doing some tests before it's possible to formulate an accurate diagnosis. What you have described seems like rather severe signs of disease, so I recommend taking her to a veterinarian as soon as possible for treatment. She may be dehydrated, which can cause the signs of disease to be worse and may be life-threatening. For now, make sure she has plenty of water and is comfortable. Poor Rayven does sound very ill at the moment. It's quite serious when an elderly cat stops eating and drinking, and not drinking is bad for her kidney health. She can easily become dehydrated from not drinking, vomiting, and diarrhea. Given her age and her combination of symptoms, I think it's best she sees a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Based on what you are describing, I would recommend she be taken back in to be re-evaluated and have further diagnostics or treatment done. Cats can only go so long without eating before developing liver issues, so we are always concerned when cats aren't eating. I would recommend Socks be re-evaluated by her veterinarian, have any further necessary testing done (xrays, bloodwork, ultrasound) to determine what the underlying cause for her issue is, and start any treatment that may be needed to help her feeling back on track. It appears that you are a very astute cat owner and it's possible that something is off, but I would not worry too much right now. We see frequent drinking in cases of hyperthyroidism, kidney failure and other diseases, but this is normally seen over a long period of time and there would be other signs of illness. The fact that she has diarrhea is a bit concerning, but it's normal for them to have diarrhea occasionally. Usually the diarrhea is not severe and will resolve within three days.
