Why is my unspayed cat aggressive, hissing at kittens, and biting me?

At this point, the best thing you can do is get both cats spayed to remove hormonal influences that may be contributing to their aggression with one another. You can also use calming pheromone collars or diffusers (Feliway is one brand) for both cats. If the aggression continues after those options, it may be worth consulting a veterinary behaviorist to evaluate their behavior in your home. Keep both cats separated unless you are directly supervising them and avoid putting any part of your body between them if they fight. If they do begin to fight, dump water on them to distract from the situation and separate cats immediately. I hope that all goes well!

Aggression can often be a response to pain. I recommend getting her checked by your vet as soon as possible, especially since she just finished a heat cycle. She could have an infection that is making her uncomfortable and in turn making her lash out against the kitten. I am sorry to hear about Lucy! Many cats can have personality changes at around 2 years of age as they truly reach maturity. That compounded with the fact that she is unspayed and has had a changing life situation over the past few months could definitely be affecting her personality. I would recommend an exam by a vet and having her spayed. If her aggression continues then a veterinary behaviorist consultation would be recommended.

Hi, I think this behaviour is due to the hormonal changes linked to heat. It can be distressing for her and for your other cat to be in this situation, I would definitely try to book her in to be spayed as soon as possible. Hope things get better soon !

It doesn't affect Samra in anyway, but her in heat behavior will be extremely annoying until her heat passes. Unfortunately cats cycle quickly in heat during certain times of the year, and this will happen over and over. I recommend having her spayed so you don't have to deal with this behavior anymore.
