Why is my female cat in heat biting and dragging my other cats?

This is the time of year when cats start to come into heat again, and if she isn't spayed and there is an intact male nearby, she may be going into heat and trying to push away her previous litter in order to make room for a new one. If you do not wish to have more kittens, I highly recommend having Chloe (and the kittens) spayed if the male cannot be. 5 cats (plus the others you mentioned) is also a lot of cats, and the sheer number may be very stressful for her. Finding homes for the kittens, or making sure everyone has access to their own food, water, bedding, litter, etc can help decrease tension.

It doesn't affect Samra in anyway, but her in heat behavior will be extremely annoying until her heat passes. Unfortunately cats cycle quickly in heat during certain times of the year, and this will happen over and over. I recommend having her spayed so you don't have to deal with this behavior anymore.

I am sorry to hear that. You may consider keeping her indoors or otherwise confined in a safe place until her heat cycle is over . Another option is to have her spayed. Cats don't get married. If the female is not in heat, then she will likely not be receptive to the male attempting to breed her and will show the behavior she is showing. You will have to wait until she is in heat to breed them. If you think there may be a health problem causing this, bringing both cats into your vet or a theriogenologist to have a breeding health exam done is best.

It could be that Ochan is in heat, and her behavior of being super affectionate when you pet her makes me suspect this is the case. Cats do not always have constant behavior each time they go into heat, and they can act aggressive. If you do not want to have to deal with this constant cycle of behavior (and it can get worse with constant vocalization), I would recommend having her spayed as soon as possible.

Unfortunately there is nothing specific to do to comfort her - she will show behavior changes until she is out of heat, and cats will cycle in and out of heat until they are bred. You could try something like a Feliway diffuser or other pheromone spray that might help her relax. Otherwise you should go ahead and try to schedule the spay surgery - ask your vet when they would feel most comfortable proceeding with surgery since she is currently in heat. Keep in mind that since hormones can persist for a period of time after surgery she may still show symptoms of a heat cycle for awhile.

Aggression can often be a response to pain. I recommend getting her checked by your vet as soon as possible, especially since she just finished a heat cycle. She could have an infection that is making her uncomfortable and in turn making her lash out against the kitten. You vet may run some labwork, do a physical exam, and based on these results, will be better able to tell you what is going on with your cat and how to treat her from there.
