Why is my unneutered male cat yelling and roaming for females?

Hi, yes this would be explained by the fact that Goldu has not been neutered. He probably reached sexual maturity when he was around 5 1/2 - 6 months old and since then he is busy patrolling his territory, hunting and finding female cats. Things should improve by getting him neutered. This will obviously decrease his desire to roam and reduce the chances he gets hurt, involved in cat fights or road traffic accidents. I see that Lucifer isn't neutered. More than likely, he has reached sexually maturity, and wants to go out to find females with which to mate. Probably soon he will start urine marking in the house to mark his territory. Even letting him out to mate will not stop the behavior, it will continue. I see that Callie isn't neutered. He may be sexually mature, and he wants to go outside to prowl for females. Cats like to do this at night, and that could be why he is excessively meowing. I would have him neutered to see if this stops the behavior. Best of luck.

I would say it is time to neuter Hobi! He is likely yeowling at night by the window because he wants to go prowling for females with whom he can mate. Even if he does find one to mate with, he's still going to want to go out every night to find females, so the way to stop this behavior is to have him neutered. I'm not sure how old Carolus is, but unfortunately it's very common to see this kind of behavior change in unneutered males once they reach social maturity - he is probably out looking for females to mate with, or fighting with other male cats, as both of these are more important to him right now than anything else. I would strongly recommend having him neutered when you are able to - this should curb his tendency to roam and not come home, and will make him a much better pet overall :)

If he is not neutered then I would be suspicious that there is an in heat female somewhere that he is spending time and energy trying to get to. However, there are certainly other possibilities. I am sorry to hear about Cassiel. Some of these symptoms could definitely be related to him being unneutered and reaching sexual maturity (increased aggression, yowling, increased hunger). I would recommend getting him examined by a vet to ensure there is no cause for lethargy and to discuss neutering him as soon as possible.
