Why is my unneutered cat roaming, vocalizing, and losing weight?

I'm not sure how old Carolus is, but unfortunately it's very common to see this kind of behavior change in unneutered males once they reach social maturity - he is probably out looking for females to mate with, or fighting with other male cats, as both of these are more important to him right now than anything else. I would strongly recommend having him neutered when you are able to - this should curb his tendency to roam and not come home, and will make him a much better pet overall :)

Hi, yes this would be explained by the fact that Goldu has not been neutered. He probably reached sexual maturity when he was around 5 1/2 - 6 months old and since then he is busy patrolling his territory, hunting and finding female cats. Things should improve by getting him neutered. This will obviously decrease his desire to roam and reduce the chances he gets hurt, involved in cat fights or road traffic accidents. I am sorry to hear that Gary is not feeling well. While being intact can make them have behavioral changes and actively seek out a mate, this shouldn't cause him to not eat or lose weight. I would definitely recommend taking him to veterinarian for an examination. It is possible that he is painful somewhere or has problems with his urinary tract that makes him painful and causes him to urinate where he shouldn't. If Billy is not neutered yet, he is now old enough to be interested in mating females. This also makes him more prone to fighting with other male cats and may cause him to roam more. This roaming and fighting can lead to injuries from cars or other animals, FIV infections (which suppressed the immune system) and abscesses. Neutering him can help to decrease these behaviors which may end up saving his life. I recommend you speak with your veterinarian about the procedure. You may want to have your dog neutered. He is likely smelling females in heat and wants to go look for them He likely is losing weight due to the hormonal stress, as smelling females would not make him interested in food. He will possibly need worming and a top quality food such as by Royal Canin, or Iams or Hill's. You may want to change to another veterinarian who will actually try to find out whether your dog is ill or not and does not just tell you to let him go (whatever he means by that).

I see that Casper is a little less than a year old, and he is also not neutered - so I'm afraid this is very normal behavior. He is just now reaching sexual maturity, and as long as he is not neutered, he will be very motivated to roam and look for female cats. There is nothing at all you can do about this apart from having him neutered, so I would recommend doing this as soon as possible. You will both be much happier once this has been done :)

Hello, These sound like normal behaviors for an intact male cat- more independence, roaming, territory marking, and calling for a mate at night. You could have him neutered to overall reduce these behaviors if you find them unfavorable.
