My stray cat has bloody diarrhea and stomach lurches. What's wrong?

Poor kitties. It sounds like these kitties likely have an intestinal bug causing their symptoms. I would visit your vet to have their stools tested first to determine what bug is present, and then they can get prescribed the appropriate dewormer. They may also need to do a short course of antibiotics to get the gut flora back to normal, especially if you are seeing them straining (colitis). I hope that your little ones feel better soon! We can have intestinal parasites that are not treated by dewormer (such as Coccidia and Giardia). We can also have things like colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, or food allergy cause these issues. The vet can examine your kitty and based on the exam and history make recommendations and possible test and treatment options.

There are many things that could cause his symptoms. Unfortunately they are non-specific and could be a symptoms of almost anything. Bleeding from the anus frequently signifies a serious disorder. Possible causes of bleeding from the anus can include polyps or tumors of the colon or anus, abscess or infection of the anal gland, constipation, blood clotting disorders, autoimmune disease or even certain types of poisoning. Any chance he ate a toxic plant or was exposed to any toxins? Intestinal parasites are another possibility. Whipworms are intestinal parasites. They are about 1/4-inch long and live in the cecum and colon of the cat, where they cause severe irritation to the lining of those organs. This results in watery, bloody diarrhea. They can also have weight loss and general debilitation. Whipworms are one of the most pathogenic (harmful) worms found in cats. Has a fecal sample been tested? Whipworms can also cause vomiting. Any chance the blood is dripping from his penis and not the anus? In younger cats a common cause of bloody urine is the presence of crystals in urine (crystalluria). Garfield seems to be suffering from a severe gastrointestinal condition, i do not recommend to stop feeding him, this can do more harm than good in cats, you need to take him to the vet as soon as you can in order to get treated, he will probably need an antibiotic course , a special prescription food and some meds to stop the diarrhea.

Poor Sergio. If he is eating a different diet than he was before, that could be causing the stomach upset and diarrhea. It could also be that he is sick. Because he is vomiting, having diarrhea, and there appears to be blood in it, he's too sick for a home remedy. I'd take him into a vet immediately to get this treated. Best of luck.

He could have a tummy upset as quite often strays will have diarrohea when they stsrt eating regular rich meals again. I would definitely recommend getting a wormer for him even if you cant get to the vet.

This is a medical emergency, and Lucky needs to see a vet immediately. He could be suffering from a foreign body, GI polyps, or GI tumors causing him to vomiting, not be able to poop, and not eat or drink. He needs veterinary treatment now. I would see if there is an ER vet clinic in your area. If there isn't, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
