Found a kitten, dad's allergic. How to stop her crying at the door?

At such a young age she should adapt very well to such a situation in a few days. I would use a covered box (possibly with hot water bottle depending on where you are) to help her snuggle up and settle and ensure she has easy access to food, water and litter tray in her resting area - I would feed her here at mealtimes to build a positive association. Plenty of active play throughout the evening can help to promote sleep also

Well, you’re both right. Halley has trained you well! She has figured out that if she cries, you will come and play. But on the other hand, an 8 week old kitten really can be very stressed and upset about being all alone. I’d consider a compromise like keeping her in a little carrier at night in your room. They also make direct sprayers that you can put onto objects or even directly onto the kitty himself. If this sort of thing works, it usually doesn't happen overnight. Another option, which may not be possible and might sound insane, would be getting a second kitty. Ginger just may need a friend to keep her company when you aren't around. There are also pharmaceutical interventions that can be given if what Ginger is experiencing is truly anxiety. A behavioral work up by a trainer or vet at your home would be very helpful in this case just to get a full idea of the entire situation. I hope one of these tips can give you some peace at night.

He likely just wants to be close to you. You will likely have to put his bed in a separate room that is closed off so he doesn't have the choice to be in your bed. I have to do this with my own dogs otherwise my allergies are a mess. They have learn to really enjoy their little "night time room". I give them a little treat before bedtime and they crawl right into their beds now. You could start a similar routine for him. I hope this helps!

Forcing a kitten to live outdoors alone is cruel. He is afraid without mama and siblings and you should really take him inside for feeding and lovings. If you are not willing to do this you should find someone to give him this.

This is a tough situation. Regarding the allergies, you need to speak with your regular human doctor. Sometimes medications may help. Don't feel bad putting him in a room when you have tasks that need to get done. He won't be mad if he is put in the bath room for an hour. Besides vacuuming, cleaning up, and using a HEPA air filter, I am not aware of anything you can do to help with her allergies. You should keep the cat separated from her when she comes over, too. If she is seriously allergic to cats then she should talk to her doctor about what she could take prior to visiting to help control her allergies.
