Should I separate my sick female cat from my rough male cat?

Good job that you are not letting them to be together. Once you de-worm her and put on a flea/tick product, she should be OK to meet your other cats. Also, if Felix is going to be an outdoor cat you should get her vaccinated. Ask your vet to examine the eye - some kittens will scratch themselves and cause small skin wounds, that may be the case. She looks healthy and very happy on the photos you posted :)

Hookworm is most commonly passed from stool of an infected animal, so it is possible your dog got the infection from your cat if she plays in the litterbox. Screening and/or treating all animals in the house (as well as picking up all stool and eliminating exposure to stool!) sounds prudent in your case. I would contact your vet for an appropriate medication and dose for your animals, or to see if they prefer to screen the stool first. Be sure to wash your hands well as hookworms can be zoonotic!

Depending on the doctor and worm burden. rechecks (for this individual diagnosis) aren't always needed because the three days of panacur tends to be successful. If however, loose stool/diarrhea persist, it would then be recommended to have an additional fecal exam performed to determine if there is still an intestinal parasite present. Once the treatment is complete, it should be safe to let the cat out of the crate but make sure to clean the litter pan well, specially if there are other cats in the home.

Dewormers generally work pretty quickly, I would recommend keeping them away for at least a week. There are several respiratory infections cats can carrier and infections can spread quickly between cats especially from a shelter. That 7 day period will give you time to schedule an appointment at the vet to make sure the kitten is healthy and make sure there is a feline leukemia and aids done to make sure she is negative.

Coccidia can be treated fairly easy. I would suggest you keep your cat separated from the kitten until the kitten's stool is free of coccidia. If you adopt the kitten while under treatment for coccidia, keep your cat and the kitten separate and give them their own litter box. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Meu needs to see a veterinarian asap. She has multiple issues that can be making her sick and could potentially be fatal. Falls can often cause internal injuries, broken jaws/ribs or broken teeth. All of which can be painful and potential fatal if there was any organ damage. Meu also needs to be checked and treated for parasites. Cats that have not been spayed are also at risk of pyometra or a life threatening uterine infection. It is impossible to know what is causing her signs of illness without an exam and possible diagnostic testing. I hope Meu is feeling better soon.

The kittens should be eating solid food by now so hopefully as they stop nursing she will gain weight back. Parasites multiply when animals are pregnant so they can infect the next generation. Both Tia and the kittens will need to be dewormed so I would take them all in to your veterinarian. They will examine the mother and if she looks pale that is a sign of anemia so they may run blood tests to make sure everything is normal. Then they will check a fecal to identify the parasites and prescribe the right deworming medicine for Tia and also give a safe one to the kittens.
