My senior cat has a lesion near her anus. Is it an an emergency?

That dark discoloration implies that top skin no longer has blood supply and it is not healthy tissue. This is likely an abscess from an injury or previous bite wound. Typically they can heal on their own, but the bacteria get trapped and cause this. She will need to see a vet for further treatment as that spot may have to be surgically removed and the area cleaned and flushed out. Antibiotics need to be given to maintain control of the infection so it can heal. These areas are very painful so any touching or straining is not recommend.

It looks like a benign cyst. I cannot be 100% sure though just by looking at a photo. I just suggest you monitor it for any major changes - like it gets much larger or changes in color - and if you notice that then have your vet check it.

This look like it could be feline acne which is an infection of the skin. This can be very painful, but is not a terrible disease. The vet will clean and disinfect the skin and then prescribe some antibiotics for her. This is according what I could see on the photos, which was not very clear. That is a very nice kitty and you are taking good care of her

Most cats won’t let you flush this unless they are mildly sedated or restrained by a trained professional; therefore, I would not advise you trying to clean this area yourself. It’s best to take Rose in to your local vet in the morning to get this taken care of. She will be in discomfort until then, but these aren’t typically life threatening. The red spot in your final picture appears to be separate from the anus though. In this case, an anal gland abscess or infection could be the cause. Hello there. Yes, this warrants having a vet take a look. It's difficult to tell for sure from the photos, but it looks like there may be a little mass there that has become irritated and bleeding. If so, it may be a benign process, but it warrants having a vet take a look in case it's something more concerning. Poor Montana! This could be his anal sac that appears crusty and is leaking. It could be impacted and infected, causing the symptoms that you are seeing. Please keep in mind that without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain, but it would be my best guess. It could also be he has a wound there that has become infected. I recommend having him seen by a vet for this. The vet can diagnose what is causing this lesion and the best way to treat it. I would have him seen by a vet on Monday or Tuesday next week.
