My rabbit has recurring mange. What Revolution dose is safe?

It looks as though this product is 2% w/v, which translates to 20mg moxidectin per ml. Based on that information, Moyel would receive 0.029ml according to your vet's directions. The Quest gel is labeled for exclusive use in horses and clearly states that it should not be used in other species. As a result, I would inquire further with your vet as to their planned course of treatment. Even if they feel comfortable prescribing this medication in an off-label fashion (which is commonly done!), the volume of medication appropriate for Moyel is so minuscule that it's next to impossible to achieve accurate dosing. I would instead ask if they have recommendations for topical treatments of moxidectin or selamectin if they're more comfortable using those medications rather than injectable ivermectin. I have to admit that i have never needed to give pain killers to a rabbit suffering from mange, even in very severe cases but if you think she is in pain take her back to your vet and ask them to prescribe Metacam which is the only safe option for rabbits. give it some time, the treatment takes 3-4 weeks for the condition to clear up, Revolution is not always effective but Ivermectin is and will resolve the condition 100%

The best flea / mite treatment and preventative in my opinion for rabbits Revolution, which is a prescription product marketed for cats and dogs. Typically, in a small Lionhead rabbit, you should use the smallest size of Revolution available, which is designed for kittens under 5 lbs. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reaching out about Moyel. Benzyl benzoate would not be good if ingested. Try topical aloe vera 100%. Pain medications from the veterinarian might also provide some comfort. Ivermectin is the appropriate treatment for mites but could there also be a secondary bacterial infection? Good luck.

You are correct that Theo could get fleas from being outside, and yes there are rabbit safe flea medications to prevent this. Advantage and Revolution are both safe to use on rabbits, and you can pick some up from your vet's office. They will be able to tell you the correct dose for Theo's weight :-)

Hi there and thank you for posting! Revolution (Selamectin) can be applied every 4 weeks or every 2 weeks for 4-6 treatments for treatment of Sarcoptic Mange in dogs. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Rabbits can be treated for mites with ivermectin or revolution. I would however recommend taking Olaf to another vet to get the proper dosing. You do need to clean the cage every day for a least 1-2 weeks to help prevent re contamination from the mites. I hope that helps
