Is it safe to approach my escaped stallion if he's bucking?

I think you really need to have a chat with your veterinarian and your parents. I think you have taken on a large responsibility that really you are not able to take on. Please talk this over with your parents and your vet or anybody else that you know as a horse person. It is all well and good to try and rescue or rehabilitate a "damaged" horse, but unfortunately sometimes they cannot be rehabilitated. It is not your fault, and it is a noble cause for you, but imagine you or someone gets hurt. That would be terrible. DO not ever go near him without wearing a helmet, better yet, do not get in the stable with him. He could kill you.

Basic safety rules: Never feed treats out of your hand. Feed treats only in a bucket or bowl. Never enter a stallion pasture without a helmet. Best: Never enter any horse pasture without a helmet. The only way to stop this is by not giving them treats. Horses do not need treats.

You should not kick your horse in the stomach to make him move. This is rough handling and it is no wonder that he reacts the way he reacts. You will need to do gentle ground work with him teaching him to move on command, not on kick. You may familiarize yourself with clicker training or work with a trainer teaching your horse good ground manners without violence.

That is a difficult problem. I usually try giving treats to catch them, and then use grooming with soothing talk to help calm their fear. There are anti anxiety supplements you can give if you know this is going to happen ahead of time. You may also talk with your neighbors to let you know when they will be doing this so you can prepare, have him under control, give medication or if possible consider taking your hose to another place if needed. Poor Lucy! She may be afraid of vehicles. This takes time and good horsemanship to overcome. If you can work with her in a small area like a corral or pen by herself, it will be much easier to allow her to get to know you without having the other horses interfere. Give her time, and if you can try your best not to scare her she will come around.

I am afraid , that if you put your filly in with the stallion he may try to cover her and hurt her. I do not recommend this. You may want to board the filly where it can grow up amongst other foals and learn proper socialisation without having to worry about being bothered by the stallion.

Hello. While I have seen stallions be very gentle with newborns, if I had a choice, I would allow the mare to foal in the other pasture. Try to be there when she goes into labor & you should be able to shoo away nosey neighbors. Once the foal is on her feet, Mom will be protective enough to deal with the other mare & colt.
