You could rub some vegetable or olive oil onto the area. Massaging the oil into the fur will help unbind the glue. Then rinse with warm water. You could also try to bathe the tail with dawn dish soap and see if that works. You could also just shave the fur with clippers to remove the glue.

After you have gotten all the sap out with olive oil, wash his paws in a dog shampoo and warm water. I did research the name, and I could not find any information about it being toxic to cats. I suspect that if it was causing problems, it would have come up on my veterinary database. However, I am not a big fan of essential oils in cats. They do not tolerate them as well as dogs do. So, I would not use it again in my cats to be on the safe side. I think that they are going to be just fine. If they did start to show irritation - you will need to bathe in Dawn dish soap to get the oil off. He is a young kitten so bathing him shouldn't be as scary as it would for an adult cat. He will likely just be scared and try to climb out of the tub or climb you. If the solution you used was a dish soap (such as Dawn here in the US), she should be fine until you can get to her again. It may cause mild GI upset if she grooms it or mild skin irritation. If you notice redness, sores, or hives, then she may need to be seen by a veterinarian. Good luck!
