Is it normal for a pregnant cat's stomach to feel hard and tight?

I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Especially if you have confirmed she is indeed pregnant. This is a very subjective assessment. I would try weighing her to determine if her weight is actually fluctuating. All sorts of things can cause her stomach to look bigger including a full stomach after a meal, gas accumulation in the intestines and stomach, and feces along the intestines due to slow motility. These are all probably caused by the pregnancy and the limited amount of room that is now available in Angels abdomen. As long as she is still eating, drinking, urinating and defecating normally I wouldn't be too concerned. If she is acting abnormal or if you aren't sure if she is actually pregnant, then a visit to the vet for an exam is highly recommended. Best wishes with Angel moving forward. Take care.

Hi there. It is common for females that are spayed to gain extra fat in their abdominal region. If the belly is very hard or she seems uncomfortable I would take her in. Otherwise just remember she doesn't have the extra hormone production she used to-changes are normal. Hope this helps

Generally a cat is not visibly pregnant until 5-6weeks and would have kittens within 3-4weeks. A vet should be able to feel kittens in the belly at this stage and if negative further investigation may be recommended especially if there is any changes in appetite or thirst or she is lethargic.

She very well may be pregnant. Her belly does look abnormally big there. Watch for signs of pregnancy such as mammary gland engorgement, continued weight gain, increase in appetite. Also you can have her seen by your vet for an exam to check for fetal heartbeats or to identify the fetal skulls, via radiograph (as early as 45 days gestation). If she is suspected to be pregnant then it's also best to feed her kitten food which is going to satisfy her high calorie requirements and ensure she makes a good supply of milk for her kittens. You might be able to feel this during very late term pregnancy, around day 55 or 60. But in many cases, you really can't feel much of anything from the outside - unborn kittens are very tiny and don't tend to move very vigorously, so if you can't feel anything, this doesn't necessarily mean that anything is wrong :)

Check if she has milk in one or more of her teats. If so, it is possible she has kittens. When she comes to eat, catch her and take her to your vet for an exam. and then let her go again so she can go feed her kittens. She may have another problelm with her abdomen or she may have retained a kitten. So this is serious.
