My pregnant cat has painful labor symptoms at 3 weeks. What to do?

This could be a sign that labor is near however it could be normal behavior for this stage of pregnancy. I would monitor Kawaii for any vaginal discharge, appetite change, hiding behavior or active contractions. If you notice any of those signs it is a more reliable indicator of labor. If she has any green discharge, contractions without producing any kittens, or has a foul smelling vaginal discharge she needs to be examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

I am sorry to hear that your pet seems to be in pain. In order to recommend any kind of treatment we must know what is wrong with your poor cat. In order to do that, it sounds like a vet visit is needed to properly examine your kitty and hopefully find out what the underlying problem is. You should have her seen by your veterinarian and hopefully he can give her medication against the pain. Pain is stress and can cause her to have her kittens early. I think it is also important to check whether she was hit by a car or whether the kittens were hurt in the process of the injury to her leg. Please take her to a veterinarian ASAP.

Most cats are close enough in size that it shouldn't be an issue and you should not have to do anything to assist in a normal pregnancy. I would NOT recommend trying to cut open your cat as you will likely injure her and endanger both her and the kittens and this is considered animal cruelty. If she is showing signs of dystocia (difficult birth) and goes into labor for several hours without producing a kitten, seeking emergency care from your vet is needed.

Miscarriage and dystocia are possible in this case and an immediate veterinary check up would be needed to confirm this clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. C section may be needed. It is not recommended to put any pressure on her abdomen/belly. You can really injure her and/or the babies. If she still has kittens inside her you will have to find a way to get her to a vet. If tee kittens stay inside her and they die, she will also die. Please get her to a vet and also have her spayed so this will not continue to happen.

She needs to see a Vet now, waiting until the morning is not advised. Is there an open emergency hospital or vet that has hours now?
