My Persian cat has a cold and head wound. Is a vet visit urgent?

Ouch, poor Daisy! That looks quite painful and red, and I would be very concerned about infection. She should see a vet immediately to get this treated. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. That looks like it could use stitches to close, and Kiyo will need antibiotics to prevent infection. I would take him into the vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Antibiotic ointment may not by enough to treat it and Collic possibly will need a course of antibiotic in form of tablets to get back to normal. I would recommend Collic to be checked over by your local vets to fully assess the wound and to recommend the best treatment option.

Hi there. Mush needs to see a vet. This wound looks like an abscess that ruptured open. We don't have Ketomycine in the US so I'm guessing you are in another country? That is a topical antibiotic and it is not the best one for this type of wound. She will need systemic antibiotics and anti-inflammatories/pain medication to get this to clear up. This looks very painful so please get her treatment by a veterinarian as soon as possible. This is not likely something you can treat effectively at home. Best wishes.

Based on your picture, it does look like he might have a skin infection of some kind, even possibly from a ruptured abscess. Does he go outside? I would recommend having him evaluated by his regular veterinarian to have area clipped, cleaned, and assessed to determine what may be going on, and what treatment (antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, or possible surgical repair) may be needed to resolve it. If he goes outside and the wound may have come from an unknown animal, I would also recommend his rabies vaccine be boostered as well. Good luck!

A visit at your local vets is recommended to confirm the diagnosis and to get treatment for Roman. It will likely be in form of antibiotics tablets or antibiotic ointment / cream. In this situation antiseptic spray will not be effective.

Hello. It looks like Lydia has picked up an upper respiratory infection. Most of these are viruses, & we can treat these with antibiotics & antivirals, if necessary. It is always best to have these looked at pretty quickly so things do not get any worse. Not all Petco's have veterinary centers. Most Petcos only host monthly vaccination clinics where no antibiotics are available. It is best to give your local veterinarian a call to have Lydia examined.
