What causes vomiting, hot paws, and back pain in my older cat?

What you are describing are some very general signs, and unfortunately it's going to take a bit of detective work in the form of a vet visit for exam and testing to figure out what's going on. Vomiting could be due to a number of causes, both GI-related (infection with virus or bacteria, parasites, foreign body blockage) and non-GI (kidney disease, toxin exposure, liver disease, etc). The lethargy (only walking) is a very general sign that usually occurs when animals don't feel well, and the lower back pain could be related to GI issues (i.e. abdominal pain) or another problem entirely. Please get Daytona seen by his vet right away to start figuring out what is going on, if he is still displaying these signs.

The are many causes of vomiting in cats, but what worries me is that she seems painful based on your description. In the meantime, offer her small amounts of water so that she does not become dehydrated. Rest her stomach for several hours and then offer her a few bites of food to see if she will keep it down. Lameness can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. The paw swelling could be due to an injury to the paws, build up of fluid from the lymphatics systems, or an infection. Sweatpea sounds like he's pretty ill right now, and I think he should see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
