My older cat is vomiting clear liquid often. What can I give him?

I'm sorry that you are dealing with this with Laundry. There are a number of anti-nausea medications that can be helpful for Laundry. And if your veterinarian has not recently checked his blood work (including a thyroid level) and blood pressure, I would certainly recheck those values to make sure that they are normal. Then, you can discuss the best anti-nausea medication with your veterinarian to help Laundry feel better. There could be several things that is causing your cat to vomit. Some of the more common things that cause vomiting and anorexia in a cat are gastritis (inflammation of the stomach wall), pancreatitis, intestinal parasites, and irritable bowel disease. I would withhold food from your cat for about 24 hours to give the stomach some time to rest. If she is continuing to vomit or still not eating after this, then I would recommend taking her in to see your vet. They can give her nausea medication and fluids if she is dehydrated. They may also recommend blood work and X-rays if it is indicated. Good luck.

I am so sorry Ginger is not feeling well. It sounds like Ginger is in serious condition and needs to see a vet as soon as you can get him there. There are no over the counter medications that are safe give cats that are as sick as Ginger. There are lots of medical problems than can cause a cat to stop eating and have vomiting and diarrhea, and most of them a pretty serious. Some examples are gastrointestinal infection, toxins, pancreatitis, foreign body, kidney issues, liver issues, infectious viruses, etc. He needs to see a doctor to get a diagnosis and get started on medications prescribed by a veterinarian. Cats vomit more often than other animals. Often it can be from eating too fast or they throw up balls of hair that accumulate in the stomach. The picture looks like a hair ball. As long as Socks is acting normally it is an annoyance but nothing to be concerned about. You can give cat laxative weekly as this will help prevent hair balls. The product you buy in the pet store is flavored so they usually like it. Also there is cat food formulated for hair ball prevention. As far as the odor I'd try to find where it's coming from. Dental problems, ear infections and other things can cause an odor. Ask your veterinarian to check if there is an abnormal odor next time you take him in for an exam. There are many causes of vomiting. The most concerning thing at this point is dehyration. Vomiting that frequently causes irritation in the esophagus and dehydration which can make Onyx feel much sicker and potentially require hospitalization. Take Onyx to a veterinarian as soon as possible to help determine the cause of the vomiting and provide treatments to help him feel better.

That's definitely concerning. Bombay could have something stuck in his intestines, an intestinal parasite, or even a metabolic problem. I would recommend getting him to the clinic this week for an exam and some x-rays to see if they can find a cause. He could also have vomited once because of eating something strange or a virus, and the vomiting itself irritated his stomach so he keeps vomiting - sometime treatment with fluids and an anti-vomiting medication is all that is needed to settle these guys down, but it's important to do testing first to make sure nothing else is going on.
