New kitten stressing older cats? Vomiting, hiding. How to help?

Pets can vomit due to stress but with an older cat, it's very important to make sure there's not a health issue going on like hyperthyroidism or renal disease. I recommend to play it safe and have Harley examined by the veterinarian. If he is eating the kitten food, this could also cause the vomiting. I would recommend trying to keep the kitten and older cat separated for now. Than slowly introducing them back to each other. I would make sure that the older cat has a litter box and food some place away from the kitten that way he will feel more comfortable eating. It is very important cats eat every day. If Niko is not eating anything he needs to go see a vet. You can try feliway which is a cat pheromone to help decrease stress in the house too. When you have that many cats, you are bound to have conflict at some point. They may single him out due to his age or size. Separate him for a week or two, then gradually reintroduce him. First, allow the others to hear and smell him but not see him. Progress to sight but without physical contact. Bring a new cat into the house can be stressful, so yes that could potentially be a cause of Kiri's vomiting. It could also be an illness. I think having her seen by a vet tomorrow is a great idea. I hope this helps.
