Neutered cat overgrooming raw, bleeding scrotum. What should I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! At this point this looks very superficial. If he does not lick or scratch at it, this will likely heal on its own at this point. I would put the e-collar back on until this heals completely. Good luck!

Oh Chandler, what a naughty kitty. They are so good at removing their cone! It looks like there is a little prolapsed tissue there likely from where he opened the incision. As long as he keeps his cone on overnight it will likely be okay to see you vet tomorrow. They can then make sure he doesn't need a suture and/or antibiotics. If Tomy sat in something irritating, it may have lead to him licking and chewing at his scrotum. I would recommend getting a plastic cone and placing this around his head and using an ointment such as Sentry Wound Cream which can be found online or at your local PetCo. If the wound does not improve or it worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Tomy so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Not sure what that is precisely or if it's related to surgery but it definitely requires vet attention by tomorrow. Until then, either place a cone on your kitty to prevent self mutilation or use some sort of onesie. If neither are available you will need to manually continue to discourage this sort of behavior. The area may been to be closed up, and antibiotics and pain meds will likely be prescribed.

It is very hard to give much advice without seeing a photo. However, based on what you said though, I would suggest you take Noodle back for a recheck exam. He may have gotten razor burn from the surgical shaving and that may be making him uncomfortable. There is nothing you can give him over the counter. Cats are EXTREMELY sensitive to over the counter medications and you can do some serious damage to them by giving something. These are the tissue remaining inside the testicular sac (scrotum).Buster collar needs to be placed as soon as possible and Boots needs to be seen by your veterinarian as antibiotics are required as well. Without antibiotics this wound will get infected.
