My kitten is wild and loves water. How can I manage her energy?

Baby is not yet sexually mature at 2 months, so spaying will probably not affect her behavior much at this point. Once she reaches sexual maturity her behavior could be affected, so I would still recommend having her spayed before 5 months of age. Lots of play time and toys are necessary at this age, and as she gets older she should gradually calm down a bit.

It sounds like you have your hands full! For better or for worse, this is typical kitten behavior. He will mellow out as he grows up, although he may always have a rambunctious personality. For right now, schedule some time every day to play with him using a laser pointer, balls, feathers on a string, or any other toys he loves. Aim for 10 minutes three times a day. Try your best not to scream and move quickly when he runs underfoot because he will think it's a game and do it more. If he's an only animal, instead of feeding him in a bowl a few times a day, hide kibble around your home for him to hunt - start really small with this to make sure he gets the idea. Oh dear it sounds like your kitten is quite the rascal. Could you try training her to use a water bottle instead with a sipper? It also sounds like she is quite playful and needs a lot to keep her stimulated. You can look into cat toys that she has to chase. You can also find treat-dispensing toys at your local pet store, that require her to bat it around to get the kibbles out. I'm a big fan of these because they mimic a cat's natural hunting instinct. Laser pointers are a tried and true favourite as well. In the meantime, I'm afraid you may have to kitten-proof your home, at least for now. Take away any access to your clothes, etc. Only put out cat-friendly toys that you don't mind getting wet. It's not really "excess" energy - it's normal for them at this age, just like its normal for human toddlers to run and scream sometimes for no reason. Just part of being a baby :). She should become calmer as she gets older.

It sounds like Cheex-it is quite the character! Yes, this is all normal behavior. Kittens are very hyper active. They do eventually outgrow it. One thing you can do that may help would be to set aside 30 minutes to an hour every day for vigorous play. This will help him to be more calm throughout the day. The only thing I read that is somewhat concerning, is that he urinates on things. This could become a problem and may indicate a medical issue. I recommend to have him seen by his veterinarian to check his urine for any signs of infection. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions!

If she's alone during the day she probably has excess energy. I do not think this is a medical problem. Try having her play with a laser pointer, throw toys or treats for her to chase and try to get her to exercise earlier in the day. As she ages she will outgrow this behavior. Cats often sleep all day then are active at night. Don't try to catch her or control her as when they are like this she may scratch or bite.
