My male cat is attacking my pregnant female cat. What should I do?

If the male cat is irritating your pregnant female the best thing you can do is to keep them separated until after the kittens are born. It should not affect the kittens if they are around each other but it may lead to undue stress for your female cat. If you are unable to safely separate them at home you may want to consider boarding the male cat or having him stay with a friend or family member until the kittens are born. Yes, he can harm the kittens. Some tomcats have attacked and killed their own offspring in order to get the attention of the mother cat, and bring her back into heat so they can mate again. Since you have a single bedroom, I would keep Ash in the bedroom alone and do not allow the male cat in with her or the kittens. Best sure to keep a litter box, food, and water in there for her. I would isolate Rosalinda from the other cat. She doesn't need any added stress while being pregnant, and she won't want the other cat around her or her kittens. The normal gestation for cats is 58-68 days, so she should give birth around another two weeks. Once she has weaned her kittens, you can slowly introduce Rosalinda to your other cat.

You should keep the male completely separate from Nancy until the kittens are weaned, around six to eight weeks of age. She will be protective of her kittens, leading her to attack him, but also if she goes into heat again (which can happen), she will mate with him and become pregnant again. Hi and thanks for your request. Probably she is not accepting the male as she is not in heat or she is already pregnant. As said in a previous question, I would recommend to separate them as you suggested or castrate the males to avoid further unwanted pregnancies.
