Why is my outdoor female cat in heat getting beaten up by a male?

Keke could be going into heat again. Cats can cycle quickly during certain times of the year. The male cats may be staking out your place to try to mate with her. I would get her spayed as soon as possible. Best of luck.

Hi, I think this behaviour is due to the hormonal changes linked to heat. It can be distressing for her and for your other cat to be in this situation, I would definitely try to book her in to be spayed as soon as possible. Hope things get better soon !

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Starting her heat cycle in a unspayed female cat is the most common reason for increased vocalization. Other possible causes are: she sees other cats outside (territorial), anxiety (cats outside, starting heat, changes to house hold), attention seeking, or medical issue. I would close the blinds temporarily, provide environmental enrichment (cat trees, interactive cat toys, lazer pointer, play with her) and consider spaying her. You can also consider a Vet exam to be sure it isn't a medical condition. If she is otherwise fine, I hope that is improves with time and some of the above. Have a great day!

Cats will tend to have a recurring heat cycle until they are bred, so if she isn't yet pregnant, she is likely to continue to have interest in the male, and the male in her. If you do not wish to have kittens, getting both your female spayed and your male neutered can prevent this, as well as reduce/stop the heat-related behaviors.

If they are brother and sister you better get them spayed/neutered or you will end up with kittens - they will breed with each other despite being related. Get her another male now. She may not have been ready to mate or did not like the one you already introduced her to. Cats usually stay in heat until they have mated as they are triggered ovulators. Sometimes a veterinarian can trigger ovulation in a cat , however this does not always work. So, if you want kittens, just find another male for her.

Hi, the most safe and permanent solution is to have her neutered. If you get over this season, you will great a short break and then she will start again. It is also distressing for her so I would recommend to have her neutered.
