Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed
Two days ago my 11 month female cat started to meow very loudly at night. First time the meowing only lasted for about half an hour but yesterday it lasted for hours, she stops then starts again. From the first time I thought she was in heat, but that's the only thing she does. She doesn't rub against anything, doesn't do that position for mating and eats just fine. I'd like to know what's up with her

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Increased vocalization and activity can be an indicator that a cat is going or is in the heat cycle. The average heat cycle typically lasts for about 1-3 weeks. I would wait until she is finished with her heat cycle and then have her spayed. If the behavior continues after 3 weeks, I would have her examined by a veterinarian. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
