My kitten is suddenly weak, vomiting, and sleepy. What should I do?

She could have a parasite, infection, or an upset stomach from something she ate. The fact that she is weak is concerning and she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. Your vet can test a stool sample for parasites and then prescribe medications. She might also need fluids to prevent dehydration.

Kittens are susceptible to many different infections, both viral & bacterial. A heavy parasite burden from coccidia, or roundworms can also wear a kitten down & leave it weak. Pascal is too young & small to try & fight this off on his own. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can not have him seen tonight or tomorrow, pick up some Nutrical from Petco tomorrow, & try to give him small amount frequently throughout the day. This is a high calorie supplement to hopefully keep his energy up. Then please try to have him seen by your veterinarian as early as possible on Monday. I hope he does better soon. That is not normal behavior from a young kitten. Yes it sounds like she has a fever and stomach upset. Since she’s so small and sick she should have veterinary treatment soon so she doesn’t get worse. Healthy kittens are very playful and don’t vomit or sleep that much. Please take her in for treatment. They will give medication to resolve the vomiting and reduce her fever if she has one. Hello. You should take the kitten in to be evaluated as soon as possible. Fleas do carry diseases that can infect cats & kittens, & if there are enough fleas, can actually cause anemia. If the kitten has not been wormed, then the presence of intestinal parasites such as roundworms can weaken a kitten further. If she had what appeared to be a seizure, I would place a small amount of karo syrup on the gums and get her seen right away as her sugar level may be low. This could easily cause the seizures with low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Sick kittens oftentimes do not eat enough and will secondarily get hypoglycemia. I'm sorry to hear that Gemma isn't feeling well. A kitten that is not eating or drinking and is acting lethargic should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Kittens can become dehydrated more quickly than an adult pet. It is possible that she has an infection or ate something that is making her feel ill. Your veterinarian will examine her and may recommend bloodwork to determine what is going on.

It sounds as Chiku is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
