Why does my kitten poop everywhere, and her rear looks inflamed?

There is nothing I would be worried about as the anus seems only mildly inflamed. Usually this is caused by softer feces/diarrhoea. I would recommend to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Hi there and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. There are many causes to diarrhea with a red perhaps inflamed anus. Parasites could be the cause or a bacterial or viral infection. I would take your kitten to your veterinarian soon for a fecal test where they will test his stool for parasites and bacteria and/or certain viruses that could be causing the diarrhea. They may Rx a medication to your kitten depending on what the veterinarian discovers on the fecal test. Best of luck! I hope this has helped.

I would wash it gently with a mild soap and rinse very well. If you have any a and d ointment or other diaper rash cream available then a very small amount of that applied and rubbed in well is appropriate. Because Sombra hasn't had wet food before, it could be this causing her red and swollen anus. But it could also be due to something else like intestinal worms. Based on the picture, I think having her seen by a vet before you leave is the best idea. You don't want it to get worse while you are gone, so having her seen before you leave will give you peace of mind on your trip. Call the vet today to make an appointment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Fluffy! Fluffy is most likely having diarrhea. The mucous and blood indicated colon inflammation. Due to the blood and Fluffy being so small, I recommend you have her seen by a Vet today before the weekend. I recommend bringing a stool sample (if she passed actual feces). Possible causes are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, food allergy or intolerance. For a kitten so small I worry about dehydration and secondary infections. It looks like Coco may have a small amount of rectal tissue prolapsed. This can occur if they have parasites, chronic diarrhea, foreign body or constipation. I recommend having her checked for intestinal parasites and possibly adding water to her food to help her pass stool more easily. If she is vomiting or showing any other signs of illness she should see a pet ASAP.

Soak her bottom in some warm water to soften the stool, then gently wipe her clean. Offer a quality canned kitten food and mix in some unflavored PediaLyte to keep her hydrated. This will help ease defecation. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites. Deworm Lily if indicated and repeat in 2 weeks. An exam should also be done since she is a "new" pet. Once she is deemed healthy, you can discuss an appropriate vaccination protocol with your vet.
