A full diagnosis would be required before any treatment could be recommended in such a severe case. A full physical exam by your vet will be essential to try and determine the cause of the paralysis but unfortunately, recovery would not be guaranteed. Oh dear poor Silvia! From the picture, I can see the open wound down her back. If that was present at the time of birth, my best guess is that this is a congenital defect that she was born with. If she is truly paralyzed, she may also have difficulty urinating or defecating. Regardless, you really do need to take Sylvia to the vet for a physical exam. Veterinarians cannot euthanize a pet without your permission. That said, in some cases, euthanasia is the best option to prevent any suffering, particularly if there is a poor quality of life. At the time of Sylvia‘s exam, her vet will be able to discuss any possible treatment options, diagnostic testing, and her quality of life with you. From there, you and the vet will be able to discuss the best option for Sylvia. I hope that all goes well.

Poor cat! If there is no deep pain present in the back legs then chances are kidding you won't regain function unfortunately. We use the pain is an indicator whether the pet will walk again. However if deep pain is present (kitty moves twitches or flinches when you pinch the back toes), then there is a chance that Katie can regain function of the limbs. However you won't know the extent of the injury without an x-ray. And without an x-ray he won't really know what treatment kitty needs. I unfortunately don't see a good solution here without proper diagnostics. Kittie may be a lost cause at this point without proper medical care for such a traumatic injury like this which undoubtedly involves the spinal cord and/or pelvis. I would highly consider Humane euthanasia for this kittie because the outcome looks bleak.

Hi ! Your kitten needs to see a vet ASAP, to understand if there is a proble with her pelvis or with her back. The longer she is left, the less chance she has to recover sadly. Also she is going to be in a lot of pain which is also a big concern. I hope she can be treated and she can go back to full health soon. This is a concerning presentation for a kitten. I would recommend to continue to wipe her nose and open the mouth to clear it. Rub the kitten in small circular movements to get it breathing. Seek immediately veterinary intervention as that wound on the the back requires an immediate check up and treatment.

This is definitely a situation where I would suggest taking him to a Vet asap. Many injuries are not visible to us after a "crush injury". Your kitten could have broken bones, internal bleeding, or even swelling in the spinal cord or a break.

Make sure your kitten has an x-ray and you may consider testing for toxoplasmosis. Infections in the spine are possible. Most vets will test for this using a blood culture. An x-ray may also help show signs of an infection. Sometimes further diagnostics like an MRI or CT scan is indicated. other infections of the brain can also present as paralysis.
