What to do if kitten got flea shampoo in eyes and they're swollen?

Most of those flea/tick products are not labeled or recommended for kittens and can be toxic. Even some labeled for cats should not be used. I suggest you bathe her again with regular shampoo or baby shampoo to remove any of the other shampoo's residue from her. Rinse her eyes out with saline solution or just plain water. Those flea/tick shampoos can cause these types of side effects (unequal pupils and other neurological problems). The pupil will probably not go back to normal for a few days to a week. There is nothing else you can do at home.

Just rinse out the eye with A LOT of tap water. The eye is going to be irritated, that would be expected. You can go to a pharmacy and buy artificial tears ointment to apply to the eye twice a day until it looks better.

Poor pup! Flea shampoo can be extremely irritating and may even cause chemical burns or corneal ulcers in the eye due to the chemicals in it. You can try to help by rinsing his eye thoroughly with plain saline eye wash, or plain warm water if you don't have any eye wash handy. After that, if the eye continues to look red and irritated, he really needs to be seen by a vet for treatment - if he does have a burn or corneal ulcer, he will need prescription eye drops to treat the problem.

Poor girl. Yes I do see the swelling there of the left eye. She may or may not have scratched her eye b/c of the fleas, but it definitely isn't helping the situation. You will unfortunately have to visit your vet to get the prescribed medication she needs to have her eye treated for, because there are no over the counter eye meds for pets. I would recommend topical Revolution to prevent fleas in cats, this product is also given through your vet and is highly effective. I would also recommend treating your home for fleas with a flea fogger from your local Lowe's or Home depot. The dexamethasone steroid in Tobradex could worsen the eye condition if Habla also has a corneal scratch or ulceration. Tobramycin opththalmic antibiotic drops without the dex would be much better to give three times a day for 7 days if you are not able to take her to a vet for a fluorescein stain to rule out a corneal scratch or ulcer. If the eyes are swollen because of conjunctivitis (a bacterial eye infection) and especially if there is also ocular discharge, Apisal or Refresh saline drops alone will likely not clear the infection. Depending on what type of flea medication was used you might be able to contact the company to see what they would recommend. That being said it might also be a good idea to go ahead and have Butter examined by a vet since even if the flea medication shouldn’t cause problems in the eye it looks like Butter’s third eyelid is elevated on one side which could be a sign of irritation or a nerve problem.

I'm sorry but I can't really give you advice on her eye without seeing her myself. I can tell you that eye issues are emergencies. If something doesn't look right you need to get her to a vet for an exam. If she is not blind already she can become blind from lack of proper treatment. Lubricant drops are not going to help the issue. Those drops are for "dry eye" and that is not only extremely rare in cats but it is almost unheard of in an animal this young. If she is having a reaction to something that got in her eye your vet will need to dispense the proper medication.
