My cat's eye is red and swollen. Could it be fleas or an injury?

I'm sorry but I can't really give you advice on her eye without seeing her myself. I can tell you that eye issues are emergencies. If something doesn't look right you need to get her to a vet for an exam. If she is not blind already she can become blind from lack of proper treatment. Lubricant drops are not going to help the issue. Those drops are for "dry eye" and that is not only extremely rare in cats but it is almost unheard of in an animal this young. If she is having a reaction to something that got in her eye your vet will need to dispense the proper medication.

A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. That wound on his foot looks swollen which is concerning for a deeper infection or a wound to the bone structures in the leg. I recommend to get this examined since a physical exam is the first step in determining the extent of the injury. As for the fleas, top products for cats are topicals such as Revolution and Cheristan. There is also an oral product called Comfortis that both dogs and cats can take. You will need to switch all the pets over to a good flea product. Make sure to discuss these products with your veterinarian first. These products are generally safe for all pets but there are some conditions which are contraindicated for the oral products. Cleaning up and treating the house and yard will also help but it will not clear all the fleas. The main control is making sure the pets are on good products. This is what will ultimately stop the infestation. Also remember every female fleas lays about 50 eggs a day and it could take up to 6 months before the eggs hatch. Poor girl. If there is swelling and scabbing, I would definitely recommend taking Bayley in to your vet for a thorough look at her eye to ensure everything is ok. It sounds like she may have an infection and in need of prescription topical eye medication through your vet. The scabs may be from her scratching around her eye or a separate issue (i.e. fleas, bacterial infection, etc) altogether. After physical exam the vet should be able to figure out the cause and get her on medication to help with that too. I hope that things work out well for your pet Bayley moving forward. It's very difficult to tell from a picture if a dog or cat has scratched their eye. The best thing to do if this is what you fear may have happened is to allow a vet to put some fluoroscein solution into the eye. What this does is it seeks out any damaged corneal tissue and settles along it. This allows us to see if there is any actual damage, and if there is, tells us which medications are appropriate vs harmful. This is what I would suggest.

It's hard to tell from your description what the red area could be. If it is within her eyelids it may be her inner 3rd eyelid. It could also be an abscess under the skin. As I can't be certain what structure it is, I don't recommend applying any medicine to it unless your vet instructs you to after an exam. If the swelling is still present tomorrow, take her in for an exam.
