My kitten fought a cat, is hurt, shaking, and won't eat. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 27 days old | 2 lbs

My kitten got into a fight with a larger street cat. Before I could check his condition, he was drinking milk from his mom so I didn't think much of his state since he seemed well. The next afternoon he was curled up in a ball and inactive which is entirely opposite of him. He was even shaking, we thought he mightve been traumatized.I examined him clearly to see wounds on his head, cheek and ear. Though I have treated them, he stays in his one spot and refuses to eat nor milk.

This sign is very concerning and may eventually be in a life threatening condition. Fever or extreme discomfort may be present. I would strongly recommend an immediate check up to confirm this clinical suspicion and have the appropriate treatment performed. Antibiotics may be needed.

Poor baby. It sounds to me like he needs additional medical attention. His pain control may not be adequate for his injuries, or he could be developing an infection. I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet clinic tonight to be assessed and his treatment adjusted.

He may have not escaped uninjured. It is possible he was bitten and is developing and infection or abscess. Cat bites can be difficult to spot. Ideally, he should be physically examined by your veterinarian. He may need antibiotics and pain medications.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Adee. I am concerned that she may have an abscess as a result of a fight wound. This a deep infection trapped under the skin. It is painful and makes the cat not want to eat. She will need to see a veterinarian to determine if this is the case. If so, treatment such as antibiotics will be necessary. Frost may be shaken from the scuffle. I'd leave her be for now, it's not too serious she hasn't eaten in a few hours. She may be painful, so if she is still acting this way in the morning, have her seen by a vet. Best of luck.

My kitten's eye is shut, shaking, and not eating. What should I do?

This is not good news. It is likely that your kitten has an upper respiratory infection which affects its eyes as well. This is usually caused by a virus and a secondary bacterial infection which then causes pus which "glues" the eye shut. Your kitty will need to be seen by a veterinarian ASAP, who will give her an exam to find out the cause and then prescribe medications accordingly, DO not wait for this to get better by itself, as the earlier the disease is treated the faster Lily La La will recover, Make sure she eats and drinks well.

Hi, I would recommend to have your cat checked over as she might need antibiotics and possible antinflammatories. Also it is worthy to have a look to see if it just a superficial injury or something more serious. Hope this helps !
