Why is my kitten sick with eye gunk, diarrhea, and closed eye?

The diarrhea could be perhaps due to parasites. I highly recommend that you have your kitty evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment which may include eye drops and anti-diarrhea medications. Jack's eyes and stool most likely are not related although can be. He may have an upper respiratory infection, conjunctivitis (inflammation in the conjunctiva of the eyes which may be infection vs allergic), Jack can have a corneal ulcer (less likely if it is both eyes that are affected) or even allergies (which are less likely due to age). With all of his symptoms, including a runny nose and sneezing it seems more like an upper respiratory infection. It is a good sign that he is still full of energy. With his stool, it can be stress or intestinal parasites. It can also be that he got into something he wasn't supposed to or even a virus. When you go to the veterinarian I would recommend bringing a stool sample so the veterinarian can make sure there are no intestinal parasites. They may dispense eye medication and medication to help with the diarrhea. Depending on the cause they find it just may be antibiotics for the diarrhea or it may be a dewormer. The anal issues are probably from the diarrhea which can be diet related, parasites or an infection. It is not uncommon for kittens to get respiratory infections and have ocular discharge and often sneezing to go with it. It will take some time and medicine to help out. A dewormer would be beneficial if the diarrhea is caused by worms, however if they also have eye discharge or third eyelids showing I would be concerned about other issues ongoing such as a respiratory infection or illness. The kittens, if they are about 2-3 months old, are also of the age where they should be getting their first set of vaccines, exams, etc. It would be best to bring them into your vet for a complete checkup, checking the stool to figure out the cause of the diarrhea, look at the eyes, and get started on a health and vaccination plan.

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. The wheezing could be due to a respiratory condition such as asthma or among other lung diseases but it is unlikely to be related to the eye discharge. Hello. Most of these kitties have a viral infection of the eyes often complicated with a secondary bacterial component. Other than keeping the eyes clear by gently cleaning with warm water a few times a day, there is not much more you can do except having the kitten seen & treated by a veterinarian. Hello, sorry to hear about Nala. Both of those, giving too much food and changing her food may cause your kitten to feel sick. However, given her age and signs of eye discharge, I would also be concerned with an upper respiratory tract infection. Kittens may suffer from URIs intermittently and signs may last 3-5 days. If she is otherwise eating, drinking, and acting like her self then you can continue to monitor her at home. However, if you note any lethargy, persistent vomiting, diarrhea, labored breathing, or a decreased appetite then she needs to be re-revaluated by a veterinarian. You may continue feeding her the new diet for now. You can also try to offer plain white rice and boiled skinless and boneless chicken with her new food. Hope this helps and best of luck.
