Why does my kitten suddenly have watery eyes, sneezing, and diarrhea?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is likely due to an upper respiratory infection though something else like bilateral corneal ulcers or even dry eye are possible. This is usually treated with antibiotic eye drops and oral antibiotics and cats usually respond well to therapy. I recommend that you have Deimos evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If they agree that based on an examination, that seems to be the issue, they will likely prescribe medications to make him feel better. Poor Echo! There could be a couple of things going on with him. He could have a respiratory disease or allergies causing the sneezing. The runny poop could be due to intestinal worms, a GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Given he has a couple of things going wrong, I would have him seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can diagnose the cause of his symptoms, and can treat him for it. I hope this helps!

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. Diarrhea could be due to something like parasites for instance which is treated with medications or it may be transient. Poor Boi! It sounds like he may have a few things going on, including a possible upper respiratory infection and possibly some internal parasites causing his diarrhea. Both of these are very common in cats adopted from shelter or rescue situations, and stress/change can certainly make it worse. If both eyes are affected to the point of swelling shut and he's very congested/feverish, it is best to seek veterinary care for a full exam and for any antibiotics as needed- plus you can bring in a sample of his stool to check for parasites and have those treated at the same time. Until you can get into the vet, using a warm wet washcloth to remove any discharge and debris from the nose and eyes and keeping him eating and drinking can help some.

Poor Jupiter! It sounds like the poor guys is pretty sick. Jupiter is likely dealing with an upper respiratory tract infection. Cats can get allergies but a URI is much more common. Many times they clear the infection but sometimes they need to be examined and treated by the veterinarian. If your kitty is not eating or drinking well, seems lethargic, squints the eyes, has discharge from nose or eyes, has trouble breathing or has a cough beyond 5 days , you pet should be examined by the veterinarian. The diarrhea could be caused by many things including worms, coccidia and bacterial infection (in addition to other causes). If the diarrhea has continued beyond 24 hours, I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. With continued diarrhea, there are often bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. The anal issues are probably from the diarrhea which can be diet related, parasites or an infection. It is not uncommon for kittens to get respiratory infections and have ocular discharge and often sneezing to go with it. It will take some time and medicine to help out. Sounds like Colby Jack could have an upper respiratory infection. Upper respiratory infections are most often caused by viruses, but occasionally secondary bacterial infections can develop so if he continues to have green discharge from his nose I would recommend seeing a veterinarian who may prescribe antibiotics. It is also common for the respiratory viruses to affect the eyes and cause conjunctivitis so watch for redness of the eyes or green/yellow discharge. The sore on his lip could potentially be related as well if it is at the lip junction but if it is on an area with hair it is probably unrelated.
