My kittens are dying, lethargic, and can't walk. What should I do?

Poor kitites. Lethargy and weakness can cause pets to stagger. Numerous things oculd be causing this including: anemia (low red blod cell count), or any other underlying illness. Without any other sympotms to speak of, there isn't much else to speculate on. Hopefullyt he vet can gether more information after a thorough physical exam and possibly even testing for infectious disease (FELV/FIV). I hope that your kitties are going to be ok moving forward. I hope by now you have taken them to a veterinarian. It is possible that they have an infection given on by the mother from when they were still in the uterus. (FeLV is one such infection). They may also be suffering from fading kitten syndrome. Please take them to a vet if you have not done so. There is no way we can diagnose your kittens over the net, nor recommend treatment.

I am so sorry about your kittens. Weakness and impaired movement are not classic signs for one specific disease process in kittens. Typically, we are concerned with infection, nutritional deficiencies and congenital abnormalities in neonates. The queen and kittens need to be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Kittens are susceptible to many different infections, both viral & bacterial. A heavy parasite burden from coccidia, or roundworms can also wear a kitten down & leave it weak. Pascal is too young & small to try & fight this off on his own. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. If you can not have him seen tonight or tomorrow, pick up some Nutrical from Petco tomorrow, & try to give him small amount frequently throughout the day. This is a high calorie supplement to hopefully keep his energy up. Then please try to have him seen by your veterinarian as early as possible on Monday. I hope he does better soon. Thank you for submitting your question regarding your kittens. I would recommend that they see their veterinarian as there is a viral infection that is easily spread between kittens. It can cause a fever, limping, oral ulcers as well as upper respiratory signs such as sneezing. It is known as the calicivirus. They may require medication. In the meantime, keep them comfortable, help them move when necessary and encourage them to eat and drink. I hope this information helps!

Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Even if you are not able to locate his pain, it sounds like he is sore if he is limping. There is a viral disease in kittens that can cause a fever, lameness and ulcers in the mouth. His veterinarian will examine him and determine if this is the case or if he has another problem. I hope this information helps!
