I strongly recommend for her sake that she invests in a large crate to confine him to when she is sleeping - provide food, water a litter tray and cosy bed so he can settle comfortably on his own. I would also recommend a natural calming supplement such as royal canin calm food or kalm aid. A pheromone diffuser may also help to ease any stress and anxiety which may be triggering such repetitive behaviour

Vocalizing can mean anything from I'm hungry, I want attention, I am in pain, I want to play. If she able to walk? is she eating and drinking? has she had any vomiting and/or diarrhea, etc? Is her breathing normal? Without more info, I'm afraid we can't speculate on the cause.

Well, you’re both right. Halley has trained you well! She has figured out that if she cries, you will come and play. But on the other hand, an 8 week old kitten really can be very stressed and upset about being all alone. I’d consider a compromise like keeping her in a little carrier at night in your room.
