My kitten was caught in a door and can't walk. What should I do?

Inability to walk, confusion, staggering, etc are all very serious and concerning signs that require veterinary care ASAP. Unfortunately, Whiskers needs to be seen by a vet in person to be examined and the underlying cause of his issues found. Anything from illness, injury, neurologic or muscular issues, malnutrition, etc can be causing this, so he needs to be seen. As with any stray that is found, scheduling a vet visit ASAP to have him examined, vaccinated, etc is always best. Poor kitty! Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do for him at home except keep him calm, warm, and quiet. Do not give him any human medications, as many are toxic to cats and can be fatal if given. He needs veterinary attention immediately, and there is usually a vet on call after hours for emergencies. The information to reach a vet on call is usually found on the clinic's answering machine or website. If transportation is an issue, I would call a friend to drive you or a cab to take you. Uber may be an option as well. If paying for a vet is an issue, I can give you a list of resources that may help you afford a vet. Grey should really be seen by a vet as soon as possible., If this is not an option, you should keep him rested and offer small amount of water and liquid food every 2-3 hrs. You may have to use a syringe if he is not taking food by himself. Unfortunately, human painkillers are dangerous to cats and there are no home remedies either that can be helpful for Grey. It is hard to say what happened to him, he may have broken limb, muscular discomfort or painful abdomen from internal organ trauma. He needs full clinical assessment to find out what has happened.

Hello, it looks like that kitten has undergone some form of trauma and should be seen by a veterinarian or the shelter as soon as possible. You can contact your local animal control officer to have them pick up the cat or take the cat to the veterinarian or a shelter yourself. The kitten may indeed need surgery amongnst other medications. Please have the cat evaluated promptly. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Ouch, poor kitty! It could be his tail is broken from being shut in the door, and he needs to be checked out by a vet right away. Hi and thanks for posting. Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear this. It is very hard to say exactly what is going on without examining Kitty first. Kitty may have endured some trauma to her bones or ligaments or perhaps internal organ damage. If she is laying down more frequently and had or is current experiencing trouble walking, she is likely in some pain/discomfort and my best advice would be to take her to see a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam, x-rays and/or blood work to get a definitive diagnosis. Yes , this is potentially life threatening and obviously very painful. you need to take Mioou to a vet right away for an exam, pain medicine and stabilising the leg. she may have internal injuries as well. Ring your vet. If he does not do out of hours, then there will be an answering service giving you a number top call for out of hours emergency service. your local PDSA may also have an emergency clinic on his premises.
