What's wrong? Kitten breathing heavy, meowing, diarrhea, leg lump.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Fiorre Flamma! I recommend that she be seen by a Vet as soon as possible due to the heavy breathing. She looks pretty sick in your pictures. Possible causes of a bloated stomach in a kitten are: intestinal parasites, constipation, and feline infectious peritonitis. All of these things are treated differently and have different outcomes. The best thing for Fiorre is to see a Vet for an exam and testing. I hope this helps and I wish Fiorre a speedy recovery!

It sounds like she has an upper respiratory infection causing the congestion. Since she is breathing heavy and is so young, it would be a good idea to have a vet examine her to determine if treatment is needed. She may need an antibiotic to help treat. The diarrhea could be caused by a parasite and your vet could test a stool sample to determine the cause. There isn't really much you can do at home besides supportive care with food, water, and keeping her warm. You could also put a humidifier in a room with her or place her in the bathroom while you shower so the steam can help clear her nasal passages.

Coco is adorable and I'm sorry to hear that she has been having so many changes to her breathing. Heavy breathing with abdominal effort/movement is a sign for concern and can be related to congenital heart defects causing congestive heart failure, pneumonia, pain, infectious conditions, among others. Oh no, poor Fors! I'm sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. Fors' appetite changes and heavy breathing could be a sign of pain. I'm gland to hear that he has sensation and the ability to move his feet, but being unable to walk and falling over are certainly not normal and could be due to a fracture (leg, pelvis or back) or progressive neurologic disease. At this point, Fors should be examined by a vet immediately so that he can be examined and have any necessary diagnostics and treatments performed. I hope that all goes well!

It sounds like there could be a few things going on with Whiskers. He could have a respiratory infection causing the heavy breathing, cough, and sneezing. The bump could be a growth, either benign or malignant, a cyst, or a lipoma. I"d have him seen by a vet for these problems to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

Poor kitty! Your pet sounds like he needs to be hospitalized and properly diagnosed to find out the underlying cause of his illness. They will likely need to run some tests (bloodwork, x-rays, etc) in order to diagnose what's wrong. Whether that be an internal musculoskeletal injury, heart condition, stroke, etc. I am not sure what injections your pet was given, but it definitely doesn't seem like it is enough treatment for your very ill pet.
