My adopted kitten has a big belly. Is it worms? Can I treat at home?

I adopted a stray kitten but she has a very large belly however she is eating fine playing fine everything is fine .can you please help me she eats very much is it because of overeating? And if it is worms can they be treated with oral medication at home?

Hello. Just about all kittens will have roundworms & this can definitely contribute to a pot-bellied appearance. You should be able to find a kitten wormer with pyrantel pamoate at any pet store. It is safe for kittens 2 weeks & older. Just follow the label directions for administration. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
