Yes you can take them into the vet to have them neutered if they don’t have owners. That would be lovely of you! It will cut down on fighting, but keeping them indoors all the time. will prevent any fighting. Best of luck.

Getting another cat is not a good idea. You really must find a way to get him neutered. If not, he is going to roam around and get many female cats pregnant and the last thing the world needs is more kittens that will then not be neutered/spayed and then they will make more kittens and so on....... The cost of obtaining a cat will depend on where you're getting it - different rescues and shelters will all have their own policies regarding adoption fees and whether they are different for spayed/neutered vs. intact animals. There are normally no significant differences in the costs of taking care of spayed/neutered animals vs. intact animals long term.

IF you are not going to breed them, then getting each fixed is the healthiest option for them. The female is old enough and she has already been through a heat cycle, so she can be scheduled at any time. This can prevent future cancers and the risk of infected uterus. By fixing just her, then she will no longer go into heat and he will not be bothered by her anymore. If you do not have plans to breed him, then he should be neutered also. this can prevent cancer and prostate problems in the future.
