My unneutered male dog is stressed by my female. Should I spay her?

You can try the calming treats but they may not help much. Vigorous activity every day like running or playing fetch will likely be most beneficial for him. Spaying and neutering provide health benefits for both sexes and I recommend to have both pets fixed. Henry can be neutered at any point but he will still have sperm in the reporoductive tract for about a month so he can still impregnate a female in heat. My best advice would be not to breed them and to have them neutered. This ia mainly for their own health as neutering prevents many hormone related diseases such as some types of cancer and infections like pyometra. It is also associated with a reduction in hormone related behavioural issues. If you do choose to breed them there would be no way of preventing unwanted matings until they are 24 months unless you completely separate them. I see that Lelo isn't spayed, but I'm not sure if Brady is neutered or not. He is likely very interested in her because she is an intact female and he may want to mate with her. I would not recommend mating them because it sounds like Brady's breed mix leads him to be a much larger dog than Lelo, and you should need mate a male to a female that is much smaller than her. This leads to large puppies and subsequent birthing difficulties often leading to emergency c-sections. I recommend having Lelo spayed and Brady neutered if he's still intact. Hello. Sampson will likely continue to harass the females until he is neutered, and he could even continue to harass them afterwards but usually less than previously. The younger you neuter the less behavioural issues you will have. If the females are unspayed then this will make things worse for Sampson as he is attracted to the females in heat. Males do not have a cycle as females do, males are just excited anytime they are around an in season female. You will need to keep them separate so you do not have unwanted kittens.

These risks would be amplified in a dog with a heart murmur. Your vet may refer Dahlia to a specialist who can provide more comprehensive monitoring during surgery. Unless my patients are in congestive heart failure, I do not hesitate to spay them with a heart murmur. My own dog has a congenital heart murmur and has undergone several anesthetic procedures during her life without complication. But like I said, your vet knows Dahlia much better than I do!
