Why is my female cat constantly licking her red private area? In heat?

If Callie is a young cat and isn't spayed, she may be in heat - if so, it's normal for her to be meowing constantly, rolling around, and posturing with her rear end in the air. If her behavior is caused by being in heat, spaying will resolve the problem. If she's an older kitty or if she is already spayed, then I would be concerned that she may have a urinary problem of some kind such as FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis), bladder stones, or a urinary tract infection. In that case, I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam and urinalysis. Your veterinarian can get her started on appropriate treatment for the problem depending on what is found.

I agree with you, it sounds like she’s in heat! I don’t see her age listed, but I see she is not spayed and she’s 4 pounds so I’m assuming she’s a kitten. If she goes outside and is around intact males, she may go into heat a bit earlier than expected, which is usually 6 months. With aar infections cats tend to scratch their ears and shake their head, rather than roll around as you’re describing. If she’s eating normally, I doubt it’s her mouth, but an exam would have to be performed to have a better idea. Allergies would be possible but often don’t start causing an issue until adulthood, and again would be expected to cause itchiness and scratching, redness on the skin, sneezing, etc. If her abnormal behavior continues, take her in. A female cat in heat will: arch her back, vocalize (meow) a lot, rub her face and body on everything in the house and become super affectionate. A car with worms will scoot her rear end and lick her rear end a lot. She may also start to urinate outside the litter box because of the stress from the worms, if not treated right away.

Other possible causes are: she sees other cats outside (territorial), anxiety (cats outside, starting heat, changes to house hold), attention seeking, or medical issue. I would close the blinds temporarily, provide environmental enrichment (cat trees, interactive cat toys, lazer pointer, play with her) and consider spaying her. I would be concerned this may be a sign of inflammation and part of the FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease complex). It is important to act quickly here as some cats can suffer extremely painful and severe blockages if untreated. Pain relief, antiinflammatories and sometimes catheters re required to relieve if very severe and he may need antibiotics if there is any evidence of infection. Dietary management long term can help to prevent recurrence depending on his test results

It sounds like Monkey is in heat for the first time! She's showing behaviors that means she is ready to mate. Cats in heat are very annoying, and can be extremely vocal. If you don't want her to have kittens and don't want to deal with the annoying heat behaviors, have her seen by a vet to have her spayed. Best of luck.

Cats do not bleed during their heat cycle which makes me thing the bleeding is unrelated to her being in heat. it could be due to a urinary infection for example, i would recommend taking her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated.
