How will my female cat in heat behave when introduced to a male cat?

The signs you see when a cat is in heat are mostly behavioral. Many cats become very affectionate, demanding constant attention, and rolling on the floor. If you stroke their back, they will raise up their rear end. They also become very vocal. Some female cats will spray urine to mark their territory. If Tom is allowed outside, you will see male tomcats in your yard, and they may try to enter your home to mate with her. If you don't want kittens, I recommend getting Tom spayed as soon as possible.

As you have seen, Serenity is showing these behaviors with you as well as the puppy. It's a normal part of being in heat. Clearly you and the puppy aren't suitable mates, but when a cat is in heat, they will display this behavior to anyone due to their hormones. She simply has such a strong drive to mate that it compels her to act out in this manner. Gorge is a very handsome boy! As I'm sure you've noticed, females display typical behaviors when they are in heat. These behaviors include being more physically affectionate, being more vocal, and lifting up on her back legs and moving her tail to one side when you rub her back by her tail. When you see those signs, put Gorge and her into a room together. She will allow him to mate with her if she is truly in heat. Please keep in mind, however, that mating her will not stop her from showing mating behaviors. Those will only pass if the mating results in a pregnancy, and even after she has kittens, she will go into heat again showing the same behaviors. The only way to truly stop her from having these behaviors is to have her spayed.

If he is fixed, there is no way they can mate and her get pregnant. Cats in heat are very affectionate to territorial and constantly make noise and meow and roll around. She will act like this to people along with animals also.

Cats will tend to have a recurring heat cycle until they are bred, so if she isn't yet pregnant, she is likely to continue to have interest in the male, and the male in her. If you do not wish to have kittens, getting both your female spayed and your male neutered can prevent this, as well as reduce/stop the heat-related behaviors.

Hi and thanks for posting! Vocalizing is very common and a normal behavior in female cats who are in heat and who are ready for mating. Vocalizing is thought to be a behavior used to attract a male to mate. She may continue to vocalize frequently until she comes out of heat or until she is bred. A female cat in heat will: arch her back, vocalize (meow) a lot, rub her face and body on everything in the house and become super affectionate. A car with worms will scoot her rear end and lick her rear end a lot. She may also start to urinate outside the litter box because of the stress from the worms, if not treated right away.
