Am I feeding my 4-day-old abandoned kitten enough for growth?

If your kitty is being hand fed only by you then its real mother is missing and Baby would be considered an orphaned kitten. If your baby is growing very well under your care, you feeding it every 4 hours and then stimulating its genitals so it will urinate and defecate, and then you clean its bum, then you are doing a good job replacing its mommy. You can tell your kittens age by weighing it. Kittens gain about 100g per week, so if it weighs 300g it would be 3 weeks old. If it weighs 500 g it would be 5 weeks old, etc.

At 4-5 weeks, kittens should be transitioning to solid foods, so it would be best to mix in the KMR with the wet food into a sort of slurry to help with the transition and make it easier to digest. When feeding a milk replacer, the general rule is that kittens should be drinking 22 to 26 cc of formula per 100 grams of body weight over the course of the day. Kittens gain about 500 grams per month. So, at 4 months of age, she should be around 2kg. Feed her a good quality canned kitten food. Have her examined by your vet and submit a stool sample to rule out intestinal parasites.

He is not so far away from his normal weight,, actually. Count 100g/per week. So if he is a week old and weighs 90 g, that would still be ok, especially since he may not have been fed for a day before you found him. Keep feeding him kitten milk (pet-lac), as much as he wants, and keep him warm. Do not forget to stimulate his genitals and anus after feeding so he urinates and defecates and keep him clean (use a moist warm paper towel or tissue to rub gently, like a mother cat's tongue). If he is healthy, ie does not have any congenital conditions, he should grow normally. If you have any other cats in the household, it might be a good idea to let them interact with him, you might actually find a mama that way who may not have milk, but takes on the hygiene and babysitting and eventually teaching him to be a cat!
